Each Step of the Course
As soon as the “Tones” go off, the challenger has to rush into their kid size Bunker gear. Firefighters only have 60 seconds to get suited up and on the truck, how fast can you get ready?
Simulating getting the necessary equipment off of the truck and to the scene. We will be carrying our Junior Sized custom built wooden ladder.
This custom built training apparatus is to simulate a forced entry such as breaking down doors and walls, which Firefighters use to get a clearer shot at an interior fire.
This is where you learn how to use a fire extinguisher! The digital training apparatus we use in the show is the same one real firefighters use to train with at their stations. With a digital fire giving real time reactions to the challenger’s use of the extinguisher.
It’s time to RESCUE RALPH! Also known as a “Dummy Drag”. Ralph is made from 20lbs of retired fire hose, previously used in firefighting action! Kids will scoop up Ralph and drag him away from the active “fire” and to the EMS for treatment.
This is the final obstacle so don’t slow down! Firefighters sometimes have to lift heavy rolls of hose to higher levels in buildings or barns to attack the fire from the top. We are using a rope and pulley system to get the hose all the way to the top of the truck!
